Burt Bartlett serves as Managing Director of Alternative Investments at Worden Capital Management (WCM). Prior to joining WCM, Burt spent 12 years as a Principal with an investment manager in Milwaukee, managing a portfolio with client assets exceeding $1 billion. Burt launched his career in Oppenheimer & Co.s Wealth Management Division in New York, rising through the ranks to Vice President before moving to Milwaukee-based Robert W. Baird & Co. in the same role. With thirty-two years of experience in the investment management industry, Burt has guided clients through the peaks and troughs of many investment cycles.
Drawing on these experiences, Burt concentrates his practice on alternative investments suitable for clients looking for durable income streams paid on a monthly or quarterly basis. Burts objective is to deliver strong risk-adjusted returns to clients by minimizing interest rate risk and correlation with broad market indices. After navigating periods of extreme leverage and market volatility over the past three decades, Burt has focused the second half of his investing career on vehicles that generate regular cash flows for clients. A majority of client portfolios are spread amongst real estate investment trusts (REITs), business development companies (BDCs) and master limited partnerships (MLPs), and Burt is in constant contact with thought leaders in those industries to drive optimal performance for his clients.
Burt earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and received his CFA Charter in 1994. Burt is married with two adult children and lives in Mequon, WI.
